| Hello everyone, Little Jokk stayed in the hospital for about 2 weeks. She came home on Tuesday February 7th. Tobbe was heroic during his last 2 weeks with us. He took care of little Jokk everyday together with Tae. Tobbe bathed little Jokk, changed her diapers, kept her fever under control and acted as an assistant to the nurse when they examined Jokk. During the time that Jokk stayed in the hospital we got to know Jokk’s big sister, Gae. She is not an easy person to get close to; but like many of the other children, she let her guard down when we went swimming together. Now she is part of the group and seems to enjoy the company of both the children and us foreigners. Now we have also had a volunteer shift change. Tobbe and Gustav left on Sunday January 29th.. They left for Bangkok and China to tour around on their own. They were very sad when they left us. On the bright side, Sol-Britt, Ammie, and Jonna have arrived. Saturday 28th January, charming, fantastic little Ae arrived walking hand in hand with her mother. She has been telling her mother that she really wanted to return and visit the orphanage. Ae spent the entire day with us. We went swimming. She was a little shy in the beginning but after a while she gained confidence. Shy little Nook was the first one who hugged Ae. This shows how much Nook has developed during her time with us; she is a lot more friendly and open now. Ae might stay with us during the weekends because her mother has to work. One week later Mioo also came to visit. She has moved back to Phuket from Bangkok and now she will live with her mother. Mioo arrived at the orphanage in a cool teenaged way, with a smile on her face. Even though some children have moved out, they are always welcomed to come back and visit us. On Tuesday January 31st, we had the grand opening for the playground. It was a big celebration. We ate Swedish cookies from the bakery in Phuket village. Mia cut the ribbon and then the children were free to do what they wanted and open the playground in their own way. Two of our best friends, Johan and Maria, visited us. They brought us a beautiful little angel who we will watch over the children and the orphanage. The angel is a gift from Unitehope project. She is one of forty nine angels that will be placed all over the world. The purpose is for the angel to protect and give hope and love to people around the world. If you want to know more please visit www.unitehopeproject.com. Speaking of angels, we had a manly Canadian angel show up when we had a dinner in Nai Yang. He heard about us from the restaurant owner and asked us if we had a home page. We had to admit that we did not. He then offered to help us build our own homepage. We were grateful for the offer but we did not think that he was serious at the time. The day after we met, he showed up at the orphanage and asked us to collect material so he could start working on the page. That same night, he had already created the homepage for us www.barnhem.org. It is not complete yet but it is on its way. Very soon we will have a completed backyard. The last bit of grass is on the way to being planted. Now it will take just a little time before we are able to play soccer and volleyball on it. It will be a great yard for our fantastic children. Warm greetings, Sussi and Hans
